Africa Shipowners Association, Kenya is an initiative of Madame Funmi Folorunso. The success of the Pan African initiative led by the Chairperson gave the natural triggers for ASAK. Once the key officials signed on under the Chairmanship of Mr. Juvenal Shiundu the registration and formal inauguration was quickly accomplished during the PMAESA conference on Blue water economy and Cabotage in Mombasa in Nov.2023.
ASAK seeks to lead the East African shipowners community to further blue economy initiatives with a primary focus to developing African shipping tonnage. African ships for African cargo is the motto.
ASAK aligns and works closely with governments and stakeholders in Kenya and East Africa to further African Ship owning interests.
